Privacy Policy

Sneho (“we”, “us”, the “App”) is a pregnancy, baby and parenting health app for families in Bangladesh, published by BlackFossils. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Sneho you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. You can start using Sneho anonymously. If you choose to secure your account, we collect your email address (email/password sign-in) or your Google account’s basic profile. We do not use phone numbers or SMS OTP.
• Family & child health data you enter. Parent and child profiles, dates of birth, growth measurements, vaccination records, developmental milestones, food/feeding logs, and pregnancy details such as due date, kick counts and appointments. Each child has a separate record.
• Device & usage information. App version, device model, operating system, language, and anonymous usage/diagnostic events used to keep the App reliable.

2. How your data is stored

Sneho is offline-first: your data is stored on your device and the App works without an internet connection. When you are online and signed in, your data is also synced to secure cloud storage (Google Firebase — Authentication and Cloud Firestore) so it is backed up and available across your sessions.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the App’s features — tracking growth, vaccines, milestones, feeding and pregnancy, and showing age-appropriate guidance.
• To send you on-device reminders (for example, appointment and milestone reminders). These are local notifications you control in Settings.
• To keep the App secure, diagnose problems, and improve features.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your child’s health data for advertising.

4. Children’s data

Child health records in Sneho are created and managed by a parent or guardian. The App is intended for use by adults on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

5. Health content disclaimer

Educational content in Sneho is reviewed by qualified professionals and shows the reviewer’s name, BMDC registration number and last-reviewed date where applicable. It is provided for general information only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified doctor, and in an emergency contact your local emergency services.

6. Third-party services

We use Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data storage, analytics and (in future releases) push notifications. Their processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy. We share the minimum data needed for these services to function.

7. Your choices and rights

• Export your data. You can export your data from within the App (Settings → Account).
• Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud data from within the App (Settings → Account → Delete account). Data cached on your device is also cleared. If you have uninstalled the App, you can request deletion by email — see our Account & Data Deletion page.
• Notifications. You can turn reminders on or off in Settings.

8. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated cloud data. Local device data is removed when you sign out or delete the App.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including authenticated access and encrypted transport, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified in the App.
